About student Visa

If you receive Japanese language education at a Japanese language school, generally the status of residence is student visa. Those who wish to study in the long term at our school are required to get student visa.

Up to 2 years

About student visa

  • It is permitted to do part time job.
  • This visa is for studying Japanese, the attendance rate must be at least 80%.
  • If you want to study for more than one year, you are eligible for National Health Insurance.
    If you get it, you can receive medical treatment at a 30% fee of the medical expenses you incurred.

Part time job

Students who have a "Student visa" can work part-time up to 28 hours a week if they obtain permission to work after entering Japan.
You can work up to 40 hours a week if you submit your school's certificate of long-term holidays to your employer during long-term school holidays such as summer vacation. Working without permission or overtime is illegal. Thus, if you worked without permission or overtime, you would not be able to continue studying in Japan.
Also, working in pachinko parlors or sexual service shops is prohibited. (Including cleaning and washing their facilities)
If you leave the school from the school, you can not continue the part-time job.

Application Guidelines

  • Have completed school education of over 12 years or equivalent education
  • Completed a secondary education program that is an entrance qualification for a university in home country.
    (Over 18 years old with high school graduation or high school graduation qualifications)
    (Completed over 12 years of school education when wishing to advance to a university in Japan.)
  • Those who can submit a Japanese language certificate of over 150 hours when applying for admission. Or JLPT → Those who have got N5 or higher level.
  • There is a guarantor who will bear the expenses during the study period in Japan or in home country.
  • Those who can submit all the application documents required for admission by the deadline presented by the school.

  • A copy of passport (If you have been to Japan in the past, submit a copy of the entry record) or copy of citizen ID.
  • Application form (School form)
  • Resume, Statement of reason for studying Japanese language (School form)
  • Last school graduation certificate or graduation prospect certificate
  • Student certificate (when in school)
  • Final academic transcripts
  • Certificate of Japanese language learning
  • 6 ID photos(Taken within 3 months, 4cm×3cm)
Documents the sponsor prepares Sponsor living outside Japan
  • Bank balance certificate(Financial institution issued)
  • Bank payment statement for 3 years(Financial institution issued) or fund preparation details
  • Certificate of Employment or Business Permit(Self-employed)
  • Letter of sponsorship(School form)
  • Sponsor's family list(School form)
  • Certificate of Relationship(applicant and sponsor)
  • Income Certificate for 3 years(Issued by a public organization)
  • Tax Certificate for 3 years(Issued by a public organization)
Sponsor living in Japan
  • Tax Certificate for 3 years
  • Certificate of Employment or Business Permit(Self-employed)
  • Letter of sponsorship(School form)
  • Sponsor’s family list(School form)
  • Bank balance certificate
  • Bank payment statement for 3 years(Financial institution issued) or fund preparation details

In addition to the above, you may be required to submit other documents from the Immigration Bureau.
